As a Christian who wants to be transformed by the Word of God and live a Lord led life, I had enough of good self-development books, courses and coaches. Why?

They encouraged me to speak to the "universe", as though the "universe" is God! That is idolatry, and I know this offends my Lord, who created the "universe".

They provided "good" worldly ways to fix my myriad of challenges. This "good" advice has led me and other Christians to go against the perfect will of God for our lives. I don't want just "good" I want Godly.
I kept saying, (in a very dramatic voice please.) "Lord, I love the content of so many of the coaches out there and I love their commitment to truly try to make this world a better place. But Lord:

I'm just so tired of having to filter everything to determine if it lines up with the Bible.

I'm tired of being exposed to methods of self-improvement and even meditation only to realize have deep roots in Buddhism or other religions.

I'm tired of hearing persons bash Christianity as a bunch of mombo jumbo.
Lord, somebody needs to create practical programmes where people learn how to THRIVE by applying the Word of God to their lives!!"
